My sick little girl...

Morgan is so sick. She has a fever and horrible cough/sore throat. I know why. I mean I've needed a sign all along telling me that college wasn't for me. What more of a sign do I need than her keeping me up all night the night before my clinicals in Beckley? What am I going to do? I am so tired I can barely move. Now I have to drive (well luckily Janet is going with me) all the way to campus and focus on my vitals. Sure vitals aren't that complicated, but with lack of sleep I just don't know how it will go. I am so frustrated I could cry... I mean really I keep getting these huge tears in my eyes. And it doesn't help that I woke Morgan up to give her medicine and now they are both awake! UGH!! Why did I even try?

I just need to enjoy my girls while they are small and then maybe go back to school. This is surely my sign I have been looking for. :(

Where does the time go!?!

I swear the days are going by so quick it seems! There has been so much going on and so much to blog about, but so little time!

A short list of what has been going on...

Drew's new job- Drew changed jobs last week!! We couldn't be more happier! He has been talking to a guy at the strip mines for months now and he kept promising him a job soon. FINALLY he called. Drew started on Thursday of last week. It has been going great from the start. But got even better yesterday when they told them of all the new plans with the company. They will get 2 bonuses a year and a $1 raise. Of course Drew won't see any sign of the raise until his 90 days are up, but hey thats fine with me! He worked at the sawmill for 8 years and in the last 3 years hadn't gotten a raise at all! I don't even want to think about that though, it disgusts me!

Mothers Day- We didn't do much. Went shopping go the moms a gift and thats about it.

My birthday- Again didn't do much. After your 21st bday it just doesn't matter anymore! lol I guess because my bday is so close Megan & Aleahs and mothers day it just kinda blends in and fades away. Drew brought me a card and an oreo pie!! Bless his heart... he tries! lol Tara bought me a cute Mudd purse and a super cute shirt! (the shirt reminds me of a myspace layout!!) haha And of course my momma gives the best kind of gift... Mr. Grant! lol (money.money.money!) My super sweet mother-in-law bought me a quilt that is very cute! It matches my carpet in my bedroom perfect.

Megan & Aleah's birthday- We had a party for the girls on Saturday. At first it was supposed to be in the yard but for fear that it would come a huge downpour-we moved it to the gym. It was fun! The girls really racked up! I'm so glad it is over though! Wednesday was her actual birthday so of course I had to take cupcakes to school for her class! They loved that!

I have tons of pics to upload from this week. Hopefully sometime today I'll get my desktop set back up and get to them. We've had the house tore apart since we have been putting up the sheetrock. I don't even want to talk about the sheetrock deal! UGH That is coming along even slower than it was! Maybe someday I'll get my house back....maybe someday!

On a scrub hunt!

I emailed my instructor about the scrubs we are supposed to wear for our vital clinicals today. She responded telling me they should be burgundy. I'm really glad I hadn't ordered any yet! lol So now I'm on a hunt for burgundy scrubs. I've found every color but burgundy of course! I guess I'll go this weekend to look around in Beckley or Bluefield for some. How hard can it be right?

I'm slowly but surely getting things together for my clinicals and folder requirements. I want to have everything by the middle of next week so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I've got enough to worry about as it is.

Well I should get to bed already, I'm so sleepy. I think I could sleep for 24 hours straight and still wake up tired!! I don't know whats getting into me. Nighty night!! :o)

So glad thats over!

I took my mid-term exam today and got 90/100. Not bad, but of course I feel like I could have done better. Its hard to do anything with the girls at home. I should have known to wait until they were at moms but I was anxious to get it over with. I asked them to play in their room nicely while mommy took a test and they looked at me like I was crazy. They had no idea what I was talking about. But anyway, its over and done with and I passed what more could I ask for! lol

I have so much that I have got to get done in the next couple of weeks. I didn't realize everything that would come along with these courses. Maybe because they were online I guess? I think I was expecting it to be a little slower paced than it is...for now anyway. But it has taken right off. I am beginning the clinical procedures part of Intro to MA. That means the first of my clinicals will begin...which of course is vitals. I can either record myself practicing vitals or I can go over to MSU and do them in the lab with my instructor. I'm seriously thinking of just riding over to MSU. I have so much to get together before I can even do that.

On top of all of my homework I have a birthday party to plan. My baby is turning 5!!! :o( I can't believe it. Time is passing by so quick! I've really got to get things together and do it quick!! Ugh! Well I should get to bed. We are getting up early tomorrow to do some much needed work on the house. Goodnight!!

For those that don't know....

In January I enrolled in the MSU Medical Assisting program. So far I really like it. I just finished Computer Fundamentals and Success Skills and I'm working on English 101, Into to Medical Assisting, and Communications.

The hardest part so far has been the 3-5 page essays in the English course. I suck at writing (as you'll see if you continue to read my blog) but believe it or not on my first essay I got a 95! Just this week I had to pass the Chapter 8 Checkoff in Intro to MA in order to stay in the course. We have 2 attempts at this checkoff and if we don't pass we have to drop the course and pick it up again later, if we fail again it is to my understanding that we can't continue with MA (I'll have to double check that). The checkoff was on Altapoint software and seemed very easy to me. I completed it in 27 minutes! Well I guess I was a little to confident because I scored a 45 on it!!! Yes thats right a freakin' 45! Thank goodness there was a 2nd attempt on it. I took the second attempt last night (Wednesday) and breezed through it yet again. Not wanting to be overly confident again I went back to double check myself. Finally worked up enough nerve to submit it and guess what the score was this time...... 65.01!!!!!! You have to score at least a 70 to pass it. What the flip is going on? I knew something was wrong or I was just crazy. This was way to easy to get such a bad grade on. Finally after emailing the instructor I find out that the computer generated score wasn't always right... and that some of my answers didn't match exactly what the computer was looking for. She re-graded my checkoff and I got a 100!!!!!!! I can't stop smiling!! I was getting so discouraged and beginning to think maybe I shouldn't have enrolled in school again! lol Now I have to study my butt off for the mid-term exam that is tomorrow! I didn't study much on it today because I didn't think I would be in the class lol. I thought I flunked out already!

I'm in week 4 (going on 5 Sunday) of 8 in this session of classes. So far I have done really good in them. I hope I can keep it up as they get harder. I keep wanting to doubt myself, but I know this is something I really want. I am having so much fun with it. It also keeps me from getting depressed and feeling like my world revolves around my family. I know that sounds selfish but honestly I spend way to much time with them and their needs. I was doing nothing for myself. Now I can do both! lol Well thats a whole new post in itself... for now I have to get my hiney to studying!! Peace out!! :o)

I'm back!

I know! I know! I'm back AGAIN! I miss blogging so I decided I should start again. I really like being able to rant, rave, or vent here. Its also nice coming back to read about it later. Usually I get a good laugh! lol

Its summer so I don't know how much blogging I'll be doing, but at least it's here when I want/need it. I have plenty right now to b*tch about, but I'll spare you!

Well that didn't work! My blog was denied because its not listed in Googles blog search yet. I had to enter it and then wait for it to be posted and then try again. So blah with that! lol I'll try again later I guess.

Mamaw & Papaws 50th anniversary party.

All the family got together Friday for a cookout and it was YUM! Everything went really good. Drew was feeling lots better and ate to make up for all he had missed out on this week! lol

Fifty years seems like so long. We just celebrated 6 yrs, I can't imagine 44 more! haha Mamaws advice is "It takes lots of giving and taking." haha Poor Drew sure does take lots of giving!!! lmao! Its rough at times but what marriage isnt? All that stuff just makes us stronger. I'm thankful for my hubby, I was blessed for sure. I doubt he feels the same lol!

Our vacation!

We had a blast during vacation! Sadly today is Drews last day :( He returns to work tomorrow. As always it went by way to quick!

We started it off by going to Pigeon Forge last saturday, then Splash Country Sunday, Dollywood on Monday, and came home Tuesday. Splash country was lots of fun even tho we all got our share of sunburn!! The girls were fine we kept them in SPF 50! lol Dollywood, well not so fun! It was so crowded it was crazy! We only rode one adult ride and two kiddie rides. Drew wasn't feeling to well. I think he may have picked some kind of virus up at Splash country or something. The poor guy had the shits for 4 days!!! Needless to say the trip home took awhile! We only stopped about 7 times! I ended up driving most of the way home, something I very rarely do!

Wednesday I took him to the ER and they ran all kinds of bloodwork and stuff and told him it was the stomach flu! YUCK!! I've sprayed disinfectant EVERYWHERE let me tell ya! I pray we don't get it! I'm not sure what I would do if the girls got it. He's feeling much better now tho, thank goodness!

Ok I know I seriously suck at keeping up my blog. My excuse is.....ITS SUMMER! I love it! The girls love it!

Drew starts his vacation tomorrow (Friday). We are leaving for Pigeon Forge on Saturday and staying til Tuesday. Our plans are to take the girls to Splash Country and Dollywood!! I'm more excited about it than anyone tho. We'll be coming home for the 4th as always , then on Friday we have mamaw and papaws 50th wedding anniversary cookout to go to. We are hoping to get to go camping Saturday and Sunday just so Drew don't get to pout because he didnt get to fish or take out his boat. lol Thats our week all in a paragraph, but of course it will go by so quickly we'll barely have time to think. It always does!

I wanted to tan and lose some weight but of course I'm white and fat! lmao. Oh well I am who I am and I'm tired of worrying about it. Drew loves me for me and thats all that matters.

Ok I have seriously got to start budgeting! Andrew makes decent money and although we have way to much debt we should do fine and be able to save. Well its not happening! So for the rest of the summer I'm going to do better. I'm going to go back to writing everything down in a planner and when its due along with how much is due instead of grabbing it up and paying it, or forgetting to pay it as I've been known to do way to much. Its really sad when they call for your payment and ask why its late and you have to say, "Ugh I forgot!" Especially when you have the money and you know you should have just wrote the check out and sent it or better yet put a stamp on it and mail it!! Not keep putting off going to the PO for stamps!

I've started paying most of my bills online so that I don't forget to send them off and its helped so much! I've just put in all the info for the online bill pay on my banks website! I've put doing that off for months now, so I'm sure once I start that I won't have any problems at all. I hope not anyway!!

I've never had problems keeping up my bills until I had kids. It seems after having them I've pretty much been horrible at everything!! Sometimes I wonder if I'm just getting plain lazy or if they actually do have my brain that frazzled. I often wonder if its not all the crazy hormone changes your body goes through after having a baby. I have to say though, lately I have actually been feeling more normal than I have in a very long while. Me normal, scary I know!!

The main thing that has brought on having to budget is vacation. Andrew will start his vacation on June 30th and go back on July 9th. We've always went to TN that week but not so sure we will this year. I've planned out all the bills and paydays up until the 28th and it seems we'll have plenty to spend (waste) but I'm not so sure I want to. We could stay home and do so much more with that money. (like put into savings, something we haven't done much of lately) But then again I'd feel horrible not taking the girls somewhere fun this year. Dang why does life have to be so complicated and full of decisions! lol Who knows what we'll end up doing, but I know I am so glad to feel like I'm actually me again! A big thanks to my girls for taking my sanity and a thanks to anyone who read this even though they were probably bored to tears!

I hate having to stay in the house because of rain! I'm ready for the sunshine again. I guess its kind of good because Megan can't get in the pool right now anyway. Well Megan is doing GREAT with the surgery. I can't keep her sitting still. She is already eating stuff she shouldn't be. lol My kids are piggies thats for sure. I'm so thankful that she has done so well. She woke up with an earache this morning, they told me at the hospital that she would, but after some pain meds shes fine. Thats really the only pain she has had. Thanks again to everyone who has thought of her and sent up prayers for her!

Well we're home! The surgery went great. She is doing fine......eating, drinking, and already asking to go outside to play!! lol I can't believe how well she's actually doing. It wasn't half as bad as I thought. I just hope tomorrow and the rest of her healing period goes as smooth.

He took out her tonsils and adenoids along with some fluid from her ear. I can't believe what a difference in her hearing. I can speak to her in a very low voice and she hears me and answers. Used to I would have to repeat myself over and over and actually explain stuff to her really slow. I will admit, I would get annoyed even when I knew it wasn't her fault. Now I feel crappy about that. I'm just so glad getting the fluid out has helped.

The honeybee swarm!

My dads honeybees finally swarmed today! He's had them since February and waited for weeks now for them to swarm. Only thing is they did swarm and he got them in the box he built, but then they came straight back out and left!! They all swarmed in the tree again but soon after took off. Kinda sad, like loosing a pet. He put so much work into them and spent so much time just sitting out there watching them. I feel bad for him, lol. He does have another hive but still not the same as the first hive that he has taken so much care of.

Day before surgery

Well its the day before surgery and I just want to puke. I can't imagine what I'll be like in the morning. We have to be at the hospital at 11:15 tomorrow. Nothing to eat after 9pm tonight, only clear liquids til 7:15am. The nurse at Dr. C's office told us she could have cheerios or something light for breakfast because he doesn't usually do his surgeries until later in the day. (something like 1pm I think)


I've explained to her that its gonna hurt and that she will have a realy sore throat afterwards but that she'll also get lots of goodies to snack on. One being mashed potatoes which she LOVES! I'm going today to pick up yogurt, chocolate milk, ice cream, and anything else I can think of she can eat. If you can think of any or know of any feel free to leave me a comment letting me know what it is.

Just keep us in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. It means so much to us that everyone has thought of her and asked about her this week. We love you all!

*Sigh* I FREAKIN LOVE NAP TIME! I know I should be doing something more creative with this hour I have to myself but it feels great to chill! The girls are so hyper it seems! It seems that all day, all I do is chase Morgan down or break up fights. lol

We are in the process of trading our truck for something smaller. Even though I love my truck, its just way to big (the payments pretty big too!) and uses way to much gas. I kinda want to trade and kinda don't, so if it don't work out I won't be disappointed. I've decide that if/when we do trade I'm going to put the extra money into savings each month. I used to be so good at saving but for some reason since having the girls I suck at it! There is so much we want for the house and for ourself that we could afford more easily if not for that huge payment each month. We'll probably go in debt yet again for Andrew a small or mid-sized truck this fall. Its just so hard having one truck that we have to share. He's driving it to work every other day and I'm stuck here at the house on those days. Not that theres much in this county to go do! But still it'll be nice to have my own ride!! lol

I did go ahead and enroll Megan for next year even tho I'm still not sure where she'll be going. As of now she's enrolled in 2 schools lol. She is so set on going to Fall River and I hate that she won't get to next year, but it won't hurt her to wait just one more year. I can't put my lil baby on that big bus! I'm excited for next year when I'll be able to volunteer at school more. Morgan will be bigger and I can take her with me or leave her home with Andy or mom. I'm sure by then she won't be as wild as she is now. lol
